Shawna Townsend

Dr. Shawna Townsend, OTD, OTR/L, IBCLC, CNT, NTMTC, SWC has earned a clinical doctoral degree in occupational therapy and holds additional specialization as a:

            • Certified Neonatal Therapist
            • International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant
            • Neonatal Developmental Specialist
            • Neonatal Touch & Massage Certified Therapist

 

She has been an occupational therapist for 21 years with experience across the life span.  Shawna has been an adjunct faculty member at her alma mater CSU Dominguez Hills for the last 12 years teaching kinesiology, pediatric conditions, and pediatric interventions. In addition, Dr. Townsend is an adjunct faculty member at Baylor University assisting with children and youth lab immersions and serving as a capstone mentor. Dr. Townsend has advanced practice and expertise in pediatric feeding and swallowing. She has worked full time in large level IV’s NICU’s throughout Southern California for the past 15 years.

 

SERVICES & FEE SCHEDULE:

Initial Feeding Evaluation (Breast and/or Bottle fed) (1-hour with 2-weeks follow-up communication):

  • Virtual Call - $200
  • In home (within travel radius*) - $225

Lactation Consult for Mother (1-hour):

  • Virtual Call - $150
  • In home (within travel radius*) - $175

15-Min Developmental Advice Session (Virtual Call) - $50

30-Min Developmental Advice Session (Virtual Call) - $100

Follow-up Appointments (1-hour with 2-weeks follow-up communication):

  • Virtual Call - $175
  • In home (within travel radius*) - $200

Infant Massage (1-hour):

  • Virtual Call - $150
  • In home (within travel radius*) - $175

**In Home appointments are available following these guidelines:

  • Travel Radius: South Bay Area including Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Torrance, El Segundo, Lomita, Hawthorne, Lawndale, Carson. 
  • Should you live outside this travel radius and still wish to have an in-home appointment, an additional $50 for every 15-minutes outside of this travel radius will be applied to your bill.
  • Additional fees for parking and tolls will also be included.
  • Out of State requests will be quoted separately and honored as availability permits.
