Caitlyn (Catie) is a Speech Language Pathologist specializing in infant and pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders and holds certifications including:
  • Certified Neonatal Therapist (CNT)
  • Neonatal Touch and Massage Therapy Certified (NTMTC)

She obtained B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from James Madison University and her Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Florida.

Catie works full time in a Level IV NICU and on the Pediatric Cardiac ICU/Congenital Heart Center at an academic teaching hospital. She is passionate about providing positive family bonding experiences from first oral feedings to navigating feeding complexity through advanced practice in the assessment of dysphagia. She serves on various committees and work groups at her institution including ELBW Developmental Care Group and as a clinician at her institutions Aerodigestive Clinic, working closely with colleagues in ENT, GI, and Pulmonology.

Academic education is at the forefront of her practice. She lectures regularly to students in the UF SLP Master’s Degree program and to medical residents, fellows, and attending physicians. She serves as a graduate practicum, externship, and clinical fellowship supervisor for SLP students. Passionate about advancing the science in the field of infant feeding and swallowing, Catie will begin pursuing her PhD in Rehabilitation Science.

Feeding and swallowing is one of the most important physiologic occupations of infancy and is deeply ingrained in family and community culture, caregiving, and infant/caregiver dyad bonding. Catie works tirelessly to help caregivers navigate various diagnoses and challenges that impact feeding and swallowing to help your child thrive and give you the tools to feel confident and competent navigating your infants feeding journey.

In her free time, she enjoys cheering on the Gators, travel, and the outdoors with her husband and three sons. To unwind, snuggles with her cat Beau, a good book, and an iced latte with oat milk hits the spot. Hobbies include workouts with Peloton, sewing/quilting, and learning how to make sourdough bread.
