Dr. Louisa organized this group of elite providers to focus on the mission of helping more infants and families in need. She has earned a doctoral degree in speech and language pathology and holds additional specialization as a:

  • Board Certified Specialist in Swallowing and Swallowing disorders
  • Board Certified Neonatal Therapist
  • Certified Lactation Counselor
  • Neonatal Touch and Massage Certified Therapist
  • Trauma-Informed Professional

Dr. Louisa has over 15 years of clinical experience working with medically fragile infants and children. Her clinical focus is on NICU infants and supporting parents as they learn all about their new, unique infant.

Feeding development is complex, therefore she uses a multi-faceted lens to evaluate and treat these infants. As an active researcher, Dr. Louisa and her team aim to advance the evidence to support appropriate feeding practices for infants admitted to the NICU and beyond. She publishes her research in high-standing, peer-reviewed journals. See her publications here.

Dr. Louisa is an internationally sought out mentor, advisor, consultant, presenter and podcast speaker on all topics related to neonatal/pediatric feeding and swallowing development and disorders. She co-presented a 14-hour course available through the National Association of Neonatal Therapists and speaks regularly at their Annual International Conference. She serves on the pediatric feeding disorders (PFD) conference committee at the American Speech Language Hearing Associations (ASHA)'s annual convention. She also serves her community by offering free parent education classes and workshops.

When not striving to advance the care for infants and families, she focuses on making fun memories with her own family. She enjoys being outdoors, traveling, staying active, cooking and eating! Dr. Louisa lives in New York with her husband Joe (Owner of Gonzo's Mexican Grill), her son Mario and dog Sadie.
